Bad News

So the contract is up on our apartment at the end of July. We are planning on buying a house in the spring so we only wanted to renew our contract until April 30, 2009. We kinda have a strict time frame during which we can buy a house because of this first time home buyers program we are in, so its not like we can just sign another 1 year contract and buy a house next summer instead. We have to purchase a house between march and may 2009. We figured the landlords would be okay with signing us another 9 month lease...oh, were we wrong. I received a phone call yesterday from the landlord saying that he only wanted to offer us a 12 month contract or nothing. I told him that it would be nice if he could work with us a little bit since I am going to have a baby next month so it isn't a very good time to move. He told me that was a personal problem and this was business (Ummm, can you say RUDE!!!). So anyway, I guess we are going to be moving AND having a baby by July 31. Isn't that great!

34 weeks... Only 6 weeks left!!!

Here is a pic of me 34 weeks pregnant.
As I have been pregnant I have observed a few things that I would like to share with all of you. There are certain things that are socially unacceptable ...until you are pregnant, then all socially correct behavior goes by the wayside. Below are some examples of what I am talking about.

1. Usually it is impolite to comment openly on a woman's weight. However when you are pregnant you are constantly hearing comments (some even from strangers) such as," You are getting sooooo BIG," or " Do you feel like you are ready to POP yet?" or my favorite, "It looks like your baby is going to be a big one!"
2. All of the sudden people feel like they can rub your stomach. Imagine rubbing a co-workers stomach if they weren't pregnant...can you say awkward. However, when you are pregnant, all that awkwardness seems to go away, at least in the eyes of the person rubbing the stomach. I feel like I can speak for most pregnant women when I say that No, it is still awkward!
3. You wear clothing that you NEVER would even consider buying if you could fit into regular clothes. (Please note the geometric shapes on my shirt above). I don't know if it is the fact that I don't want to spend a lot of money on maternity clothes since I will only be wearing them for a few months, or if it is because there are only a few store that sell maternity clothes, whichever it is, I am definately wearing things that I would not consider wearing if I wasn't pregnant.
4. No matter what you eat, people are always reminding you that you are "eating for 2." If you eat dessert, people try and justify it for you by saying, "don't worry about eating that cake...remember, you are eating for 2." If I didn't feel bad about eating the cake before, I definately do NOW.
5. I think the best comment I hear is "So when are you do" and when I say "6 weeks" they reply "Really, that far away? It looks like you could deliver today!"

This post was meant to be humorous rather than the rantings of an emotional pregnant woman. So feel free to call me Big, rub my stomach, comment on my food intake, and say it looks like I could deliver today...I won't be offended. I completely understand that when you are pregnant, people say and do things that are usually socially unacceptable, and I am OK with that :)

About My Husband Tag!!

Here is Rob working on his Dodge charger and proudly displaying the fishing net I got him for his birthday.

1. What is his name? Robert Bodily

2. Who eats more? He does most of the time. I usually leave 1 or 2 bites left on the plate of whatever I eat. It drives him crazy so he always ends up eating my leftovers, well, most of the time.

3. Who said I love you first? He did.

4. Who is taller? That is obvious! Rob is ELEVEN inches taller than me.

5. Who is smarter? I am more book smart and Rob is more street smart, or maybe I should call him a barrel of useless information. He knows all sorts of sports statistics and random world events in the news. Whenever we play trivia games, he kicks my trash.

6. Who is more sensitive? Me, unless one of his sports teams loses, then I here him punch the couch, mutter choice words under his breath, and sometimes even see a single tear trickle down his cheek.

7.Who does the laundry? Rob does 75% of the time, and I finally after 5 years of marriage have got him trained to sort clothes according to color, check the pockets, and not put certain items in the dryer to prevent shrinking. Well, actually this might still be a work in progress as Rob did wash a pack of gum with the laundry last week- luckily, no clothing causualties this time, just an afternoon of picking gum off wet clothes.

8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Looking at the bed, Rob does.

9. Who pays the bills? I do.

10. Who cooks more? We usually cook together. You should see us cook hamburger. I tilt the pan and hold all the meat to one side while all of the fat drains to the other side of the pan, and Rob scoops it out with a spoon. Is that not the most romantic thing you have ever heard!

11. What meals do you cook together? We usually make tacos, chocolate chip cookies, and smoothies.

12. Who is more stubborn? Me.

13. Who is the first to admit they're wrong? Rob is. I have no rememberance of EVER being wrong thus far in our relationship.

14. Who has more siblings? Rob has 5, I have 4.

15. Who wears the pants in the relationship? We work as a team.

16. What do you like to do together? Rob probaby thinks out favorite thing to do together is have Sports Center on the TV and at the same time surf the internet on the laptop looking at ESPN.com, MLB.com, etc. Actually what we really like to do together is make snacks, play UNO or other games, go on drives, go on trips, go to the gym, and talk until all hours of the night about nothing.
17. Who eats more sweets? Rob is so sweet. He always is bringing me my favorite candy or taking me out for shakes. So, to be a good wife who is grateful for the gifts my husband gives me, I take one for the team and eat more sweets than him. Plus Rob has diabetes, so he usually tries to limit the sugar.

18. Guilty pleasures? 7-Eleven hot dogs with chili and cheese.

19. How did you meet? At the fitness center at Dixie College.

20. Who asked who out first? Rob asked me out to Applebee's.

21. Who kissed who first? Rob kissed me. We were sharing a bowl of spaghetti and accidentally slurpped the same noodle and the rest is history.

22. Who proposed? Rob did. He gave me a rose that had "Katy, will you marry me" printed on the rose petal.

23. His best features? I love Rob's sweet smile. I love to see him laugh.

24. What is his greatest quality? He is great with kids. He is kind and loving. He brings me flowers for no reason. He is good at helping around the house. He is responsible and takes care of all out car/house problems. Most of all, he treats me like gold.

25. Tag? Avree, Kara, Sariah, Melissa

Summer League Softball

Rob's been having some fun playing softball on Tuesday nights. He plays on a team with his brother in Orem. I feel like a "little league mom" in the stands. I yell out the typical phrases that must be called out at any softball game such as, " Wait for your pitch," "At least you got a peice of it," and by far my favorite, "Let them pitch to you." After each game Rob always jokingly asks where his orange slices, capri suns, and granola bars are. I told him that we can go to Chucky Cheese Pizza after his last game to celebrate a great season.

Memorial Day Weekend in Dixie

We headed down to St. George over Memorial day weekend for Rob's job. He had to work Sunday and Monday morning, but we managed to squeeze in some fun in the afternoon and evening. We started off the trip on Saturday with a visit to In-N-Out Burger which Rob loves because it reminds him of his home state of California.

We played a little baseball on Sunday afternoon with Rob's sister Annette and her family.

This is our nephew Boston.

Here is Rob pitching fast balls to our niece Delaney.

Here is Rob and McKenzie.

Here is me hitting a home run! (disregard what looks to be the ball on the ground next to home plate)

Here is Rob pitching to Cooper. Check out the batting stance on that 5 yr old.

While Rob worked on Monday I hung out at the hotel pool relaxing and enjoying the sun. Well, actually it was cloudy and a little rainy, but it was still warm. (I know everyone is disappointed there isn't a pic of me in my swimsuit at the pool. Trust me, I looked hot!!!)

Later we hit up our favorite little sandwich and shake spot, Charlies, for some good eats.

It was a short trip, but we had fun seeing the Vest's and Enjoying our old stomping grounds of St.George.

Breaking News...Well, not exactly

I am 29 weeks preganant this Tuesday. Wow, time is flying by. I feel the baby kick like crazy all day long. This morning he woke me up around 7:00am with the kicking, and the rolling, and more kicking. I was hoping to sleep in, but I guess that didn't happen.
Rob started school this past week. He has been studying hard and loving every minute of it... Ha Ha Ha, yea right. It is only an 8 week course so he is hoping it goes by fast and painless.
I guess today was my first Mothers day...I think. Being pregnant counts as a mother, right? Well, even if I am not quite a mother yet, I took the candy bar that they gave me during church and ate it during Gospel Doctrine :)
Other great news to report, I got a new bedspread. Eventful, I know. But all you ladies out there know how exciting new house stuff can be. I have made my bed faithfully every day since I got it, so I guess it is good motivation for me to be a better house cleaner. The best part about this purchase is that it was 75% off, plus and additional 30% off!!! I am officially inviting anyone in need of new bedding to hit up a Dillards near you. (Rob didn't want me to report on the new bedspread, but to me, that is the event of the week!)

Tulips at the Park

There is a park in Orem with tons or tulips. We spent the afternoon enjoying the warm weather and the great scenery. Enjoy the beautiful pics.
