October

We took a vacation to St. George last week. We stayed at my Grandma's house in Coral Canyon. There is a HUGE park across the street. Kaden loved it; we went there everyday!
He scared us to death when he would climb the rock walls. This one below was about 10 feet tall. Rob and I would try to help him and he would wag his little finger at us and say "no, no, Katy... no, no, Rob."

We swam in the backyard pool a bunch too. It was heated to 90 degrees so it was nice and toasty!

We had a great trip. Thanks Grandma K for letting us stay with you!
We carved one of the pumpkins we grew in the backyard. Kaden thought the pumkin guts were hilarious.

Kaden thought trick or treating was the best. He didn't want to come in.

Bye Bye Summer, Hello Autumn

Rob and I spent most of the summer working out in our yard. We had so much fun experimenting with different plants. Above are the petunias. They were so beautiful until the caterpillars and grasshoppers got the best of them about a month ago. They should still be blooming, heck, even Taco Bells petunias are still going strong; but instead I had to pull all of them up because the stupid bugs absolutely destroyed them and they were completely blossom-less and looked awful.

I planted these from seeds. They turned out to be pretty decent.

This is the rose of sharon bush.

This is a gladiolus. I think these were my favorite.

I am so sad that it is fall and all the flowers are pretty much gone. I am already looking forward to next year's growing season.

We went to Lagoon last weekend with my family. Kaden loved all the rides. He was 36 inches so he was tall enough to go on some of the adult rides like the scrambler, tilt-a-whirl, and the tidal wave. He laughed his head off. I thought he would have been more scared, but he wasn't. He absolutely loved it.
This ride in the picture below went up and then dropped you down really fast. I am going to be honest, I thought it was kind of scary for a kiddie ride. Kaden was hysterically laughing the entire ride, which made me feel like a big chicken for feeling a little anxious when it was drop time.

Here he is with his cousin Mindy. She was a good sport to go on all the baby rides with Kaden.

Kaden stuggled with the concept of pulling the lever to make the rides go up and down. If he was by himself he would stay in the down position the entire ride. So sad! We will have to work on his lever pulling skills during the off-season and see if there is any improvement next summer.

Here is Kaden with his cousin Josh. They were little riding buddies.

We picked the pumpkins from our garden yesterday. I was surprised anything even grew since we didn't plant the seeds until the end of June. We ended up with about 6 good sized pumpkins.

Happy Autum!
